Welcome!

Do you know that feeling as Christmas approaches? The excitement of seeing the presents under the tree. Counting down the days to when you know you can open them.

And then that feeling when you begin to peel back the paper on the first present. You can hardly contain your excitement. Your breathing speeds up.

And then you finally see it. It is at last in your hands. You can now hold it and feel it.

That is my feeling right now.

It all started on Nov 1st, 2009. Two weeks beforehand, I had decided to join the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo [NaNo]). I had completed Script Frenzy (Screnzy) the previous April and loved it.

While I didn't think narrative writing was my thing, I thought I would give NaNo a go. I completed the challenge (Write 50,000 words in the 30 days of November) and then had a completed first draft on my hands.

One of the winnings of completing the challenge was that you got a free proof copy. So I ordered it. Some very kind friends read it, gave me helpful suggestions, and encouraged me more than they'll know.

And that led to today, when this afternoon the final proof copy of First Laugh: A Fairy Tale landed in my mailbox. One more read through and it will available on Amazon.

This is also just the beginning of many stories and curriculum ideas that are in varying stages of production.

Through this blog I will be sharing all the new and exciting things coming to Teachable Moments.
